Hey guys. Sorry I didn't even think about posting a thread here until just now.
I'm very proud to be a member of EZC and (if elected) will return to hopefully join an Elite regiment to contribute even more!

Continuity is a great thing when you're dealing with a Department with so many moving parts. EddieA and Illiguy have been doing an amazing job this term keeping all those moving parts up and running. Next month, we're going to push to publicize all their hard work even more in an effort to bring to light the amazing programs offered by the Citizen Affairs Department.

DMJ is a master of spreadsheets and mathematical analysis. During this term, Hale Kane, my previous Defense Secretary, was appointed USAF Operations Commander. Senryaku filled in great, gracefully fulfilling the duties. However, with DMJ's fierce attitude and unwavering support for the USAF makes him a natural selection to work closely with Hale Kane to return the MU to it's glory days!

Senryaku and Yui are both old hats at this. Senryaku graciously stepped in last term as Defense Secretary and then stepped up to provide military advice and support to the PMU's. Yui has also served as NSC Director before and is like...always online.

So, before I talk about my goals and opportunities for success in the coming term, I want to talk about some of the achievements of this term.
Domestically, in the Department of Citizen Affairs, our BU2SU is catching back up to current and has distributed over 200 gold this term! American University graduated one student, Blame My Doppleganger, and has distributed over 9000 energy and 17 gold. Kodos, and Meals on Wheels has distributed over 80,000 energy! The Question of the Day reporting system was repaired and it’s disbursements caught up. We’ve also added a new domestic program, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, hosted by RegisPhilbin.
In the defense of our Nation and its interests, we regained our lost cores. North Korean determination was reset and Russia gifted us Hwangae to help better manage those territories. I appointed Hale Kane to the USAF Operations Commander position in relief of Rainy Sunday and tapped Senryaku to become the new Defense Secretary. Finally, 2 regions were taken in Japan in anticipation of pushing Spain out of the area.
In Foreign Affairs, we re-signed key MPP’s to help protect our interests both at home and abroad. Meetings were held in the Pacifica command center and the Bulgaria/Russia MPP and its implications and consequences were discussed as well as the lack of alliance specific media. Currently, we’re also on the cusp of a major Pacifica announcement to strengthen the alliance. We’ve also raised the country’s reserves significantly by being able to peacefully resolve problems as opposed to using the oft-expensive military module.

Onto a short summary of my goals for next term.
On the domestic front, in an effort to increase visibility and participation in our Citizen Affairs programs, I’ll be working with Illiguy and EddieA to create more media. Media to publicise our current programs and bringing former player education media back to the forefront with updates. We’ll also work to cultivate the imagination, creativity, and ideas of players in order to bring new programs like Who Wants to Be a Millionaire to the people.
We’re currently poised to help Pacifica and our own interests by pushing Spain from the Japanese region. Whether this is through joint-Pacifica military action or through foreign policy is up to the developing situation and Congress. As Pacifica grows, we’ll be counted on more and more to as much assistance while our own situation remains calm. We’ll continue to monitor battles closely and use CO’s efficiently and strategically where necessary. With the switch of Hale Kane to USAF Operations Commander, DMJ as Defense Secretary, and Tyler Bubblar as the XO, we’ll be leveraging their experience to streamline their finances as well as using the Media module to promote and grow the MU and it’s damage to more accurately reflect its’ position as the national MU.
We’ll be redoubling our efforts next term to provide quality media to the populace. I will be leveraging my own personal media exponentially to provide updates on Executive functions. WHPR will also be increasing its pace to 2-3 WHPR’s a week, special election coverages, and re-utilizing the Pony Express to further increase visibility of other Government media. And, again, Citizen Affairs will continue its publishing of new articles highlighting its programs and updating and republishing previous Education and Interior articles to keep our young user-base up to date on mechanics.
Finally, Foreign Affairs is mostly a thing that takes care of itself with input from all parties involved. We will be continuing our current path while monitoring the ever changing geopolitical landscape for opportunities to further our goals and maintain or grow our position.

Israel Stevens wrote an article a few hours ago in which he tries to talk about ‘Taxes and Such’ as he eloquently puts it. I agree with him that the citizens of eUSA are paying a massive amount of taxes to support the Federal Reserve,, a rate that is almost triple the rate of other nations with full bonuses. However, I am the only candidate this election cycle who has taken steps to ensure that we lower taxes.
In our country, the Country President (or the Dictator) do not control the taxes, they’re controlled by our Congress. The one stipulation by the eUS Congress regarding our tax rate was that the tax rate would be lowered once a certain threshold is reached. In the past month, we have spent 0 CC and held on to North Korea - gaining a region there courtesy of Russia- as well as adding two Japanese regions to provide our citizens with opportunities for True Patriot Medals and put pressure on Spain, and have spent nothing in this. While both of these countries are weak and this has been an easy task to do, I have resisted the temptations of many of my predecessors to engage ourselves in foreign, imperialistic conflict which could have a huge cost for the tax payers of our country. This was the first month in a long, long time that we have spent zilch and provided that our country’s and our alliance’s integrity isn’t threatened, I can guarantee to repeat this feat in the coming month. I will not be starting conflicts for the sake of starting them, so I can be “remembered” while my successors have to face a huge invasion which involves millions of currency being spent.
I briefly mentioned our alliance in my previously article, and am now at liberty to announce that Sweden shall be joining Pacifica shortly. This move ensures that Pacifica now controls large swathes of Northern Europe, including almost all of Scandinavia and large parts of the Baltics. In Sweden, we get a stable, mid-sized country that’s always been there for its allies and provides consistent damage on the battlefields.
I’d also dispute my competitor that our reserve is the only thing that keeps us safe. While a reserve is extremely important in many significant battles, which often turn out to be a ‘who can spend more’ match, the importance of our strong foreign affairs can not be underestimated. The addition of Sweden to our alliance builds upon our FA work in the past year and I am proud to have worked for it in the past month.
While I may not have a huge list of titles to show my experience under old Presidents, I have been there for this country in the past month and I intend to be there for you in March too. Shoot me a message if you’ll like to be a part of Team Orik!
