I'll start with a bang. 2 part question.

1- Last week the eUS Military Commander (from Special Forces) tanked against the President's orders (and he knew about it). It pissed off a lot of our members being told not to fight for eUSA in Ireland while SF was ignoring orders. I myself as you know got in a shouting war with the CO of SF.

2- Also, right now Special Forces is being led by players from Denmark (CO AND XO) not to mention that their most important tankers are foreign members. It feel weird to see my tax money going to them. It looks bad seeing all militia leaders being American citizens and Government funded MU being led by foreign leaders.

Thoughts?

1) Fighting against orders

First lets make clear that eUS Military and the Special Forces are not the same. Correct? The eUS Military and US Marines are made up of old JCS units, however the Commander of The Special Forces tanked against the President's Orders and he should therefore be removed and the President who didn't remove him should also be removed.

2) Foreign Commanders in charge of Americans?

NO...FUCK NO...NO FUCKIN WAY...and to think I wanted to save The Special Forces as the kernel upon which to build a National Military...NO...JUST NO....

Answering Deepchill:

1. I remember the incident well. It was unfortunate to see the incident taking place and see some high ranking USAF members hitting for TP damage, but it happened during the first round of a battle, at a time when Battle priorities were not updated on the bot and in many cases, it automatically set to the USA battle, against Ireland. That being said, as soon as NAz alerted the COs, the USAF was quick to make sure that no more of their members hit in the respective battle, although I do believe ilphen was unnecessarily harsh in his dialogue with you.

2. SF has always had a large RL German/ingame Danish population, mainly because of the fact that it is "Oblige's MU" and he's extremely close with them, i.e. he owns most of the communes, which he paid for by his own money. In an ideal scenario, I would prefer American tax money being spent on Americans only, but the players in question, while they probably do get tanks off American tax money, spend it on eUS priority battles, so I think it is a fair exchange. The damage output of our premier government MU will decrease by a fair margin if one of its requirements were to be that its soldiers hold eUS citizenship only, although a large portion of its players have generally been loyal eUS citizens in the past.

As far as the XO/CO issue is concerned, as a former Ultramarines XO, I can assure you that being CO/XO in USAF MUs generally means filling out reports and keeping track of soldiers to make sure that they are not requesting extra supplies, which is probably why many of the old names involved with MUs, as is the case with Oblige in SF, donot actively take the role themselves and let others do the gruntwork, despite being very much in charge.

It is also pertinent to mention here that one of the reasons of why eIreland kept a full 40 man Congress and eUSA was not able to win the battle in question (we delayed it enough to make sure that the peace proposal passed, thereby forfeiting the battle), was due to n0s3y's active directing of our damage away from that battle, who happens to be a Danish citizen and has been involved in our NSC for months.

First, thank you for this explanation of the events; but my problem is that the average citizen soldier has none of this knowledge. If nothing else I would expect a commander to be more conscience of appearances to his citizen soldiers. I would also expect a commander to have access to the latest orders for American MUs and since gold is a precious commodity hitting for TP damage when the citizen soldiers under your command are denied that same damage is unacceptable. Always easier to ask forgiveness than to ask permission....

Second, I love the Germans and knowing they are actually close to Oblige if not out right commanded by him; makes me feel better -however I am against having any American Funded MU under the Command of a citizen of another country...any country. The easiest way to handle the problem would be to simply stop funding ALL USAF MUs, but stopping the funding for The Special Forces would be a giant step forward; especially since it would seem that they do not need the help.
