Cool Aircraft Mosquito-3

This aircraft was built around a monocoque shell built in two halves out of balsa wood and plywood strips and then covered in a doped Madapolam. Basically a model airplane with a huge motor on each of it's wooden wings....

Some dude in Westfield killed himself in one of these this afternoon.
Told his wife they were perfectly safe. My condolences to his family.
However, just what made him think that aircraft was in any way safe?

Which one? Notice the second one says, 'EXPERIMENTAL'. There are only 2 flying Mosquitos, but I would give a lot just to go up in one.

SO. How stupid am I. Don't answer that....

I I love you New York, but unlike my daughter I had not considered that here we will be soaring in the mountains; sort of...close enough I guess that it will affect our flight. I am use to going up, doing a couple of loops, a barrel roll, following a hawk or 2; apparently there will be some chop and sometimes sudden huge drops in altitude?

However, we may be able to follow an eagle!

U2 Spy Plane

In 1960, Francis Gary Powers was shot down over the Soviet Union in one of these aircrafts. Embarrassing to say the least when President Dwight D. Eisenhower denied the incident and Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev paraded the wreckage through Red Square and put Powers on trial using the pictures of Soviet Air Bases the aircraft had taken.
