EZC Smiley Design Contest

Afternoon EZC.

Those of you who use the forums a lot my have realized that we have a lot of smileys/emoticons. In fact, we have 143 of them (counting this little fellow I just added to make sure I knew what I was doing ). Even with this truckload of smilies we have, it's worth noting that most of them have been here longer than I have, so I figured we should do something about that.

So, we're going to have a contest to give our more artistic soldiers a chance to shine.

Everyone will be allowed to submit up to three smilies in this thread over the next week, and after submissions up, we will have a poll to decide the winners.

The top three smilies will be added to the forums, and the winners will receive a prize:
1st - 5k CC
2nd - 2k CC
3rd - 1k CC

(At the moment, the intent is for each winning member to only receive one CC prize, but the winners and their ultimate inclusion on the forums will be at the discretion of the EZC Command Group. Also, the poll format may change depending on the number of eligible entries.)

Smiley Creation Guidelines

- Smilies must be 180x180 pixels or less and be no more than 50 KB in size.
- Smiley format must be jpg, gif, or png.
- Nothing NSFW please.
- The intent of this contest is to give members a chance to flex their artistic muscle, and to that end, we will give preference to original work. If you want to post something taken from elsewhere that you'd like to see on our forums, you can, but it should be properly labelled and it may not be considered eligible for prizes.

Well, after too much ado, I am here to declare that this awesome thing is the undisputed victor as we were kind of lacking on original smiley submissions:


Synhro has been awarded the 5,000 CC first place prize, and his awesome logo has been added as synlogo, and it now lives in the Signage section just under our well-known Currahee! banner ->

May it live forever in the pantheon of smilies.


On a final note, I really like some of these non-original smilies, but in the end, that was not the intent of this competition. I think maybe in the future, we should have submissions and a poll specifically for non-original smilies, but you know, we have only 7 slots remaining, so I'd like to save that for another time when we can really make them good.
